Rhythmic Vocabulary Audio Measurement Tool

rVAMT In-Class Approach

We improve phonetics and reading skills through the continual use of rhythmic exercise. Similar as to how musicians’ approach musical scales, by practicing cognitive listening exercises and by breaking up syllables through the use of rhythm and drumming, young students will improve their speech. Better speech habits lead to better reading skills and better retention.

RVAMT Measurement Process

Through alpha-numeric audio files, we record data that demonstrates the improvements of students’ speech patterns before and after the program series.

We evaluate their progress by using high-level professional musicians to record developmental changes in the students’ speech and fluency.

We share the results with campus and district administration to build program consistency.

Our intent: To show phonetic improvement between baseline and post-program tests within the areas of articulation, rhythm, inflection (melody), speed, and volume.
